Fill Use Issues

This webpage was set up on August 9, 2019 to provide the public with ongoing information related to environmental testing.  The sites being tested are ones that received aggregate fill between 2013 and 2016 from the aggregate pile at the Public Works Yard.  Testing will be performed by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and Tighe and Bond, the LEP consultant hired by the Town.  This webpage is updated by the Health Department

Testing Sites

On August 16, 2019 a list of twenty-one priority sites was compiled by the Town. On September 13, 2019 the Health Department released a supplemental list of sites.  These are sites that were identified by the Town as potentially receiving fill from the aggregate pile between 2013 and 2016.

The Board of Education has decided to test all school fields and playscapes not on the Town's Priority Site List.  Click here for information on Board of Education sites.

Testing Status

This table provides the status of the environmental testing and remediation of priority sites (largely park areas and sports fields) that were identified by the Town as potentially receiving fill from the aggregate pile between 2013 and 2016.  The Board of Education has additionally decided to test all school fields and school playscapes.  A status of those school sites can be found here.
