Employment: Fairfield does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under title I of the ADA. The Town’s Personnel Policy governs employment-related complaints of disability discrimination.

Effective Communication: Fairfield will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in Fairfield's programs, services, and activities, including qualified sign language interpreters, documents in Braille, and other ways of making information and communications accessible to people who have speech, hearing, or vision impairments.

Modification to Policies and Procedures: Fairfield will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services, and activities.

Making a Title II ADA Accommodation Request

Any guests or visitors to our facilities or programs who need equal access to a program or service can speak to and/or submit a written request for a reasonable accommodation as soon as possible but no less than 10 days before the event to the:

A written request should be sent to or emailed to the above address and include:

  1. Your name, address and contact information,
  2. Reason for the request (such as the nature of your disability),
  3. When and where the accommodation is needed, and
  4. Your suggestion on how to address your request.
The ADA does not require Fairfield to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden. Complaints that a program, service, or activity of Fairfield is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the ADA Coordinator in accordance with the Town of Fairfield Grievance Procedure link below.

Fairfield will not place a surcharge on a particular individual with a disability or any group of individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing reasonable auxiliary aids/services or reasonable modifications of policy.
