Events and Deadlines

Please note the following events and deadlines for the 2022 Primaries.

Polls will be open from 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM at regular polling places.

The Primaries are only for voters registered with either the Democratic or Republican parties.

Not sure what party, if any, you are registered with?  Click here to access the Secretary of State's Voter Registration Lookup. Unaffiliated voters may change their party affiliation in person up until noon the day before the primary.  Please note deadlines below for those wishing to change parties.

May 9th

Monday, May 9th was the last day to change party affiliation for any voter currently enrolled in a party (i.e. Democrats wishing to become Republicans, Republicans wishing to become Democrats, etc.).  Unaffiliated voters (i.e. those not enrolled in any party) may register for a party up until 12:00 pm on Monday, August 8th - see information below.

By midnight for online registration

The last day to register to vote and/or enroll in a party by mail or online before the primary day is Thursday, August 4th. Mailed applications must be postmarked on or before this date. Online voter registration must be submitted by midnight.

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

In addition to regular weekday hours, the Town Clerk's office will be open Saturday, August 6th, from 9 AM - 12 PM for Absentee Voting.

In Person
Registration Deadline
August 8th
By 12:00 PM

The last day to register to vote and/or enroll in a party in person before the primary is Monday, August 8th, by 12 PM at the Registrar of Voters Office in Old Town Hall. Voters must appear in person. No drop offs will be allowed.

Absentee Ballot Applications and Ballots are available in the Town Clerk's office until 4:30 PM on Monday, August 8th.  Absentee Ballot Applications are also available online from the Secretary of State's website.

Primaries Tuesday
August 9th
6:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Polls are open from 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM.  Voting takes place at regular polling locations.

All absentee ballots must be received in the the Town Clerk's office by 8:00 PM on Primary Day.
