9/25/2020 - Tax Collector Reminds Residents of Deferred Taxes Due October 1st

You may pay your deferment eligible taxes that became due on July 1, 2020 without interest or penalty through October 1, 2020. After October 1st, as mandated by CT General Statutes, interest will accrue at 1.5% per month retroactive to the original due date of July 1, 2020. This means that on October 2nd all unpaid accounts will be subject to a 6% interest charge (1.5% for each of the months of July through October). Under CT State Law, the Tax Collector cannot waive interest.

ONLINE: www.fairfieldct.org/taxpayment Click on “View or Pay your Bill” (fees are $0.95 for E-Checks and 2.95% for Debit or Credit Card)

DROP BOX: Located in the lobby of Old Town Hall. Payments are collected daily.
