Yesterday the Town of Fairfield experienced major flooding caused by 6 inches of rain falling in a very short period of time.
As a result, many residents have experienced damage to their homes and personal property. The Fairfield Emergency Management Team is in the process of surveying those areas that have been most damaged. Emergency vehicles will be patrolling the hardest-hit areas conducting damage assessment. If you have any questions, please call 203-254-4713 or 203-254-4700.
Residents are encouraged to survey their homes for any hazards. If you are having the following kinds of issues, immediately Dial 911:
- Smell smoke, have an odor of gas, or see fire
- Fuel oil smell in basement
- Electrical system damaged by water
- Damaged propane or oil tank
If your vehicle was towed, call the Police non-emergency line - 203-254-4800. If your furnace is damaged by water, call your heating contractor. If your basement is flooded, call a restoration company.
