About the Bigelow Center

Mission Statement
To provide services and programs for older adults that promote well-being, support
independence and encourage involvement in community life.

The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities is a welcoming place where members can form and maintain friendships, enjoy affordable nutritious meals, and engage in activities that promote overall health and wellness. It offers a variety of recreational activities, social services and preventive health services to Fairfield’s aging residents. There are hundreds of activities to choose from, including classes in the arts, wellness and personal development and sports and fitness. Throughout the year, there are lectures and presentations as well as numerous special events and trips.

The Center coordinates with social services and various community organizations to offer assistance programs to seniors with special needs or concerns.

Becoming a member is simple. Complete a membership form at the Center or complete a Membership Form Online. Once submitted, stop by the Center to pick up your membership tag. Membership is free to Fairfield residents. The Out-of-Town Membership fee is $25 per year, per person.

To tour the center, call 203-256-3166 to set up an appointment. A staff member will be delighted to take you on a tour and tell you about the services and programs offered.

The Senior Center is part of the Human Services Department and is funded by the Town.
