The Town of Fairfield Shellfish Commission will host a clam clinic event at Sasco Hill Beach on June 11 at 10:00 a.m. for local residents to learn about Fairfield’s natural shellfish resources. The event is rain or shine*.
“This event provides an opportunity for Fairfield residents, including children, to experience the basics of harvesting shellfish while learning the importance of Fairfield’s natural shellfish ecosystem,” said Robert Bilek, Chairman of the Shellfish Commission.
Participants will be taught harvesting techniques and can keep their own catch. Gear, including clam rakes and gauges, will be provided if needed. Participants are encouraged to bring their own towels. No reservation is required.
