First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that it has closed its Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities (formerly the Fairfield Senior Center) on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
Since the SBA had reopened the filing period for anyone impacted by Superstorm Sandy to apply for low-interest disaster loans, it had recently opened a temporary office in Fairfield to assist anyone affected by the Storm with the disaster loan program and to help individuals complete their applications.
Despite the Outreach Center closing, applicants should still apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Or, applicants can mail completed applications to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.
Businesses and individuals may also obtain information about the Disaster Loan Program and loan applications by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 (1-800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing), emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or visiting www.sba.gov/disaster. Loan applications can also be downloaded at www.sba.gov/disaster.
The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Dec. 1, 2016 and the deadline to return economic injury applications is Dec. 1, 2016.
