10/1/2015 - Fairfield Emergency Management Team Issues Update on Preparation for Hurricane Joaquin

First Selectman Mike Tetreau, on behalf of the Fairfield Emergency Management Team, issued the following update on preparation for Hurricane Joaquin:

Town officials met again this afternoon and continue to monitor Hurricane Joaquin as it moves up the East Coast. The Town will continue to monitor this significant storm over the next few days.  Please stay tuned to local media outlets for further updates.

Current projections have the storm impacting Fairfield Monday evening and into Tuesday. Winds are anticipated to be in the 40-50 mph range accompanied by 8 inches of rain. High tide is expected on Monday during the 6 pm-7 pm range. The storm may bring heavy rain.

The Town will continue to update you as we get more information. The next update is scheduled for 12 pm on Friday, October 2, 2015.
