TOWN & CHAMBER ANNOUNCE DETAILS, NEW ADDITIONS TO THE 10th ANNUAL ‘SHOP & STROLL’

FAIRFIELD, CT — First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick is inviting the public to participate in Fairfield’s 10th Annual Holiday “Shop & Stroll” on Thursday, December 8.  The event is co-sponsored by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Participating shops along the Post Road in Fairfield will offer extended hours and an assortment of complimentary seasonal refreshments to shoppers.  Traveling carolers will fill the air with holiday cheer.

The Town and the Chamber are partnering with Connect Fairfield to make it a night not to be missed! The evening will kick off with Happy Hour beginning at 5:00 p.m. at South Bay, located at 55 Miller Street. There will be special discounts on food & drinks and free “Buy Local Fairfield” tote bags, while supplies last.  And once you’ve wrapped up your shopping, head over to Isla & Co., located at 11 Unquowa Road, for a festive after-party beginning at 8:30 p.m.

“I truly look forward to this event every year to get some holiday shopping done. It is a festive and fun night where we can come together once again to support our local businesses,” said First Selectwoman Kupchick.

This year’s Holiday Stroll will feature caroling by Fairfield University’s Sweet Harmony, Fairfield Ludlowe’s Close Harmony and Aria, the Fairfield Prep Jazzuits, and Fairfield Warde’s A cappella choral group.  Weary shoppers looking for a quick pick-me-up can swing by Sherman Green for free hot cocoa and s’mores courtesy of BE Chocolat.

This year’s event includes retailers along the Post Road, from Coco & Company in Southport to The 203 in the Grasmere neighborhood of Town. Mo's Wine & Spirits, located at 957 Post Road, is proud to collaborate this holiday season with Earth Animal's Mitten Project to raise money for Connecticut Food Share.  Stop by Mo’s during the Shop & Stroll, make a purchase and they will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Mitten Project. In addition, Two Roads will be pouring their Holiday Ale from 4-7pm.

Featured retailers and participants as of press time include: Apricot Lane, Beach Kraft, BOHO Prep, Capri, Ciao Bella, Coco & Company, Element 50, Fairfield University Bookstore, Fowler Sakey Team, Henry C. Reid & Son, In the Mood Intimates, Intrigue Hair Salon, Island Outfitters, Jane + Mercer, J.B. The Town and Chamber gratefully acknowledge the following businesses for helping to sponsor this year’s Holiday Shop & Stroll event: Connect Fairfield, Sacred Heart University Community Theatre and Hearst Connecticut Media Group.  The public is invited to visit the special event website at www.experiencefairfieldct.org/shopnstroll for more information on participating retailers, restaurants, activities and special offers.
