2/19/2014 - Town Of Fairfield Welcomes New Chief Of Staff
First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that effective January 2014, Thomas Dubrosky has assumed the role of Chief of Staff in the First Selectman’s Office.
Mr. Dubrosky, a 43-year Fairfield resident, has extensive managerial and community experience that will benefit the Town and its residents.
Mr. Dubrosky had spent 42 years in the pharmaceutical industry; 37 of those years were spent with the multi-national Boehringer Ingelheim Corporation located in Ridgefield Connecticut. Mr. Dubrosky was the first representative for Boehringer when it established itself in Connecticut. He has experience in sales, sales management, marketing, trade distribution and training.
Mr. Dubrosky is a Vietnam Combat Veteran. He is currently an officer for the Fairfield County VFW, Commander of the VFW Post #399 in Westport and a member of American Legion Post #74 in Fairfield.
Mr. Dubrosky is a past member of the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) where he had been elected to serve for three consecutive terms in District One. He had served on the RTM Public Works Committee and its Public Health and Safety Committee. While on the RTM, Mr. Dubrosky was one of the key leaders to initiate the Town’s first blight ordinance for properties. Most recently, Mr. Dubrosky served as a member and chair of the Town’s Police Commission.
In addition, Mr. Dubrosky was a coach and athletic director for Fairfield Pop Warner. He is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church where he currently is an alter server. Mr. Dubrosky has two daughters and four grandchildren who live in Fairfield.
First Selectman Tetreau said, “The Chief of Staff plays an instrumental role in the First Selectman’s Office and contributes to the success of our town. I am very pleased to welcome Mr. Dubrosky to this critical role. Tom brings the right mix of a strong managerial background coupled with a deep understanding of our community that will further strengthen the needs of our Town and will also help the First Selectman’s Office continue to provide quality service to our citizens.”
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day
Hazardous Waste Collection Day: Saturday, August 28, 2021
9am - 2pm at Veteran's Park - 909 Reef Road
The Town of Fairfield hosts its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on a Saturday in late August at Veteran's Park to provide you with the opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste at no charge. Just load up your car and your car will be emptied for you. There's no need to get out of your vehicle. See more details below.

What is Collected
Please click here to view a list of what household materials are accepted and which ones are not.
If you have only antifreeze, motor oil or automotive batteries, you can take them directly to the Transfer Station.
There is a specific traffic pattern for the Collection Day. There will be signage posted. Police and volunteers will also be on site to direct traffic and answer questions.
To access the site proceed as follows:
- From Old Post Road or Oldfield Road turn onto Rowland Road
- At the third stop sign turn right onto Edward Street
- Proceed to drop off site at Veterans Park
- Signage is posted and police and volunteers are on site to direct traffic and answer questions.
A few tips for transporting your hazardous waste to the collection site:
- Don't mix hazardous wastes. Keep waste in their original containers if possible.
- Keep hazardous waste away from children and animals.
- Don't smoke in the vehicle.
- For safety reasons, there will be no walk-in drop-offs on Collection Day.
Chemicals from around the home, workshop or garden shed may contain substances which are difficult to dispose of safely. Your effort will help protect our Town's environment and our region's water supply.
The Town needs volunteers from 8:30 - 11:30 or 11:00 - 2:00 on Collection Day. Volunteers will not be handling any hazardous waste. If you would like to volunteer please contact the Solid Waste and Recycling Department.
