8/3/2020 - Tropical Storm Isaias - Strongest Winds Between 2 - 7 PM

Here is an important update on the Tropical Storm that will impact our area from First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick:

The center of T.S. Isaias is forecast to make its closest approach (close to western CT) at approximately 4:00 PM this afternoon. The latest models are indicating that the right eye wall will move through Fairfield County and then western Connecticut between 2:00 – 6:00 PM.  The models are indicating that the tropical storm is going to still be packing gusts between 65 – 75 MPH in Western Connecticut and between 55 - 65 MPH in Eastern CT as it’s rain bands move through the state.

We are likely to see street flooding, tree damage and power outages. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel until the storm passes. For flood prone neighborhoods that need to move cars to higher ground, Veterans Memorial Park and the Metro North Train Stations are available.

Residents can report power outages directly to UI at 800-722-5548.

For additional guidance, please check the Fairfield website fairfieldct.org/hurricane or the Fairfield Storm Page at fairfieldct.org/storm.

Please take all necessary precautions and stay safe!
