1/24/2014 - Fairfield Senior Center Presents A Musical Valentine With Singing Star Ruth Harcovitz, Ms. Connecticut 2013
Fairfield, CT – January 16, 2014 – Ms. Terry Giegengack, Director of
Human and Social Services, announced today that the Fairfield Senior
Center is pleased to announce the forthcoming appearance of singing star
Ruth Harcovitz, Ms. Connecticut 2013, in her program, A MUSICAL
VALENTINE, featuring music in many styles dear to the hearts of seniors.
The concert will take place at the Fairfield Senior Center, 100 Mona
Terrace, on Thursday, February 13 at 12:30 P.M. The performance is free
of charge. Lunch will be served for $2.00 starting at 11:30 A.M.
Reservations for the concert and the lunch are required. Please call

being catered by The Falcon’s Nest Restaurant and Catering operating out
of Fairfield Ludlowe High School.
Ms. Harcovitz, a classically-trained soprano, recently returned from
Atlantic City where her talent presentation singing the Strauss waltz,
“The Voices of Spring” wowed both the audience and judges, winning her a
position as a Top Ten Finalist in the Senior America Pageant. Ms.
Harcovitz was crowned Ms. Connecticut in April at a ceremony in Enfield.
Known for her programs on numerous themes for community organizations,
Ms. Harcovitz is a graduate of New England Conservatory, with graduate
study at the Vienna Academy of Music. She has sung with the Santa Fe
Opera, Artists Internationale, Opera New England, and many others. She
has performed and recorded with the Boston Symphony both in Boston’s
Symphony Hall and in Carnegie Hall, and has appeared as a soloist with
choral societies.
Ms. Harcovitz has sung leads in musicals, summer stock, dinner theater,
and appeared with numerous musical theater reviews. A favorite of
audiences, she is in constant demand throughout the country for her
beautiful voice and warm personality, and recently returned from a
successful singing tour in Florida.
This program is sponsored jointly by the Fairfield Senior Citizens
Associates and the Town of Fairfield. The program is free of charge.
