Get Your Flu Shot 

Flu is currently widespread in our community. If you haven't received your flu shot yet, we still have regular and high dose vaccine available by appointment only. Please call The Public Health Nursing Office at 203-256-3150 to schedule an appointment. Flu shot appointments will take place at the Fairfield Health Department's Public Health Nursing Office (100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield).

The single best way to protect yourself and those around you from the flu is to get vaccinated. It is recommended that everyone over the age of 6 months receive the flu vaccine every year. It takes about 2 weeks after the receiving the flu vaccine for the body to develop protection against the flu virus so now is a good time to get vaccinated.  

Medicare Part B, Connecticare, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem, and United HealthCare are all accepted and there is no co pay. Cash price for the Flu vaccine is $30, the High Dose vaccine is $65 and the Pneumonia vaccine is $65.  

For a quicker visit, patients can print out the vaccine  consent form. Patients should also have their insurance card with them and wear clothes that make it easy to expose the upper arm.
