7/16/2018 - Enjoy the Fairfield Sidewalk Sale & Street Fair - Saturday, July 21, 2018 10am-4pm, Rain or Shine - Shopping, Food, Music and More!

First Selectman Mike Tetreau wishes to remind the public that the annual Fairfield Sidewalk Sale & Street Fair will take place on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10am to 4pm, rain or shine in downtown Fairfield. Select merchants will offer advance sales of discount merchandise beginning on Thursday, July 19th.

Over 75 vendors are expected to participate in Fairfield Center, setting up stands and offering a variety of merchandise for sales along the Post Road from the Heritage Square Shopping Center to the Promenade at the Brick Walk. Admission to the event, which is being co-sponsored by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, is free.

Sherman Green will feature activities for children and families, including an inflatable bounce house, face painting by Marcia Patterson of “Put on a Happy Face”, balloon artistry by Robbie’s Pack, and an appearance by “Storm” the Bridgeport Sound Tigers mascot. Members of the Fairfield Teen Theatre Company will also be presenting at 11am a preview of their upcoming stage production of “Les Misérables.”

This year’s event will feature live musical entertainment at multiple venues scattered throughout the downtown. Musicians will be playing at various times from 11am to 3pm at venues set up at the Brick Walk, Sherman Green, Heritage Square in front of the Community Theater, and near Lion’s Paw & Company which is located at 1552 Post Road.

Bankwell will be offering several raffle drawings each hour with the winner having 30 seconds to grab as much cash as possible in their “Money Machine” booth on Sherman Green. The equivalent of the money collected will be put into a Bankwell savings account, with a minimum of $25 and maximum of $75 to be deposited into the account.

Take a break from shopping and enjoy lunch at one of several participating restaurants downtown including the Old Post Tavern, where it’s “buy one, get one free” on house wines, house liquor and draft and bottled beer in the bar area from 3pm-6pm plus $5 flatbreads and $1 sliders. For those in search of a sit-down meal, Toto is offering a $15 pre fixe menu, while at Flipside Burgers & Bar, pitchers and glasses of sangria are 25% off.

First Selectman Tetreau said, “I encourage everyone to come and be a part of this fun-filled event, which includes live musical entertainment at various venues within the downtown, special menu offerings at our many fine participating restaurants, and activities for children and families.”

  • Keep hazardous waste away from children and animals.
  • Don't smoke in the vehicle.
  • For safety reasons, there will be no walk-in drop-offs on Collection Day.

Why Participate?

Chemicals from around the home, workshop or garden shed may contain substances which are difficult to dispose of safely.  Your effort will help protect our Town's environment and our region's water supply.
