The Town's volunteer Sustainable Fairfield Task Force wishes to remind Fairfield homeowners that they still have an opportunity to secure special, discounted pricing on a residential solar power installation, but they need to act soon – this year’s Solarize Fairfield program is set to wrap up on May 15.

Since the program’s launch in early October, the Town of Fairfield has been working with a designated solar installer, All Green It, to help residents tap the appealing cost-saving and environmental benefits of clean solar energy, at a reduced installation price.

Under Solarize Fairfield, residents need to contract for a new installation by May 15 to receive the price discount.

The program offers residents high-quality renewable-energy technology from a vetted installer for a lower cost than typically available due to the aggregated savings of residents going solar together in the community. The 30% federal tax credit that saves the average Solarize homeowner over $5,000 on the cost of going solar starts to decrease after 2019. Over the past seven months, 130 residents have inquired about solar for their homes through Solarize Fairfield.

“With attractive pricing and the confidence of working with an established provider, Fairfield’s Solarize program represents an ideal opportunity for residents to learn about and start reaping the benefits of cost-efficient, renewable solar energy,” said Scott Thompson, Sustainable Fairfield Task Force Chair and Fairfield resident. He added, “There won’t be a better time to take advantage, so we highly encourage interested residents to check out Solarize now.”
