3/17/2017 - Board of Selectmen Seeks Residents to Serve on Strategic Plan Committee

First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that the Board of Selectmen (BOS) is seeking five qualified Fairfield residents to serve on a Strategic Plan Committee.

This core group of five will act as a steering committee. These BOS-appointed volunteers will be tasked with creating a request for proposal (RFP) for a consultant to develop a Strategic Plan that defines the direction the Town wants to go in for the future and the resources that will be used to pursue this strategy. Members will report to the BOS on the process that they will undertake to help develop the RFP.

There will be multiple phases of the Strategic Plan that the steering committee will be involved in. Additional members may be added to the Committee as needed. The intent of involving the steering committee throughout the process is to keep any institutional knowledge from one phase to the next and not lose any information acquired in the previous phase.

First Selectman Tetreau said, “I think the key is stakeholder involvement. We really want this to be a community plan, not just something the Committee does on its own and possibly even have some educational sessions for the public on what the strategic plan is and how it will help our town.”

How to Apply:
Residents who are interested in serving have until Friday, April 7, 2017 to send their resume and a completed New Boards and Commissions Questionnaire Form to the First Selectman’s Office via email (firstselectmanffld@fairfieldct.org) or via mail, 725 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.

To access the questionnaire, please go to http://www.fairfieldct.org/getaform and click on either “Boards and Commissions Questionnaire Form –NEW BOARDS – Fillable PDF” or “Boards and Commissions Questionnaire Form –NEW BOARDS – WORD Document.” (These are the fourth and fifth documents on the ‘Get a Form’ webpage.)

Selected candidates will be asked to appear before the BOS at its April or May meeting for approval.

For information on the appointment process, go to www.fairfieldct.org/appointmentprocess.
