10/11/2016 - Fairfield Restaurant Week Set to Begin October 16th-Popular Passport Promotion Returns

First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today that Fairfield Restaurant Week will officially kick off this Sunday, October 16th, with thirty-six restaurants participating in this weeklong celebration of the culinary arts. Restaurants will be featuring special prix fixe lunch and dinner menus or alternative discount pricing on their existing menus through October 22nd.

The popular Fairfield Restaurant Week passport promotion will also return. Patrons may pick up an official passport book at participating restaurants and other designated outlets beginning later this week and throughout Restaurant Week. Passports may be stamped at each successive visit to a participating restaurant and later deposited in specially marked receptacles for a chance to win great prizes. The grand prize is a night’s stay, deluxe accommodations, at the Delamar Southport, plus dinner for two at Artisan Restaurant and a couple’s massage at the Spa at Delamar.

The passport books double as a coupon book for more great savings. More than twenty local retailers are offering discounts or other sales promotions in conjunction with Fairfield Restaurant during the week of October 16-22. Participating retailers include: Magic Beans, the Fairfield University Bookstore, Apricot Lane, the Fairfield Museum and History Center, Red Mango, Island Outfitters, The Beehive, Saugatuck Sweets, Hazel Daze, So Chic Fairfield, Lion’s Paw & Company, the Quick Center for the Performing Arts, Vintage Garden Gifts, Coreen’s Bridge Floral Shop, Capri, The Label Exchange, Me Boutique, soundRunner, Swim ‘N Surf and No. 299 Design Gallery.

First Selectman Tetreau also encouraged the public to explore the many programs and events taking place in Town during Fairfield Restaurant Week. Community and Economic Director Mark Barnhart added, "We wanted to highlight things to do in Town, as well as places to eat, to create more of a 'night out' experience." He continued, "The Town appreciates the support of our community partners for featuring a spectacular array of events and activities in conjunction with Fairfield Restaurant Week."

The public can visit www.fairfieldct.org/rw to learn more about participating restaurants and retailers, passport prizes and rules, as well as events that are scheduled to take place during this special week.

First Selectman Tetreau said, “Restaurant Week gives the public an opportunity to visit the many fine restaurants and retailers that make Fairfield so special. This week-long event is another way the Town can show its support for our local businesses and provide our residents with an enjoyable experience. We encourage Fairfield’s citizens and visitors alike to join us and celebrate all that Fairfield has to offer!”

The Town of Fairfield is very grateful to Bankwell for sponsoring this year’s Fairfield Restaurant Week passport promotion. Media sponsors include: Star 99.9, WSHU, Hearst Media Services/ Fairfield Citizen-News and Fairfield Magazine.

In addition to the Town’s webpage, www.fairfieldct.org/rw, information on Restaurant Week can also be found on Facebook at Fairfield Restaurant Week, via twitter @FairfieldRW, and on Instagram @FairfieldRestaurantWeek.
