Dear Marina and Boat Rack Users:
In an ongoing effort to have better communication with all of you, we wanted to let you know that The Parks & Recreation Commission will be reviewing several Marina/Sticker recommendations at their next meeting which is scheduled for October 15, 7:00 pm at the new Beanery/Tennis Center, 210 Old Dam Road. You are more than welcome to share your opinions.
At the request of many in-water boaters, this Department is suggesting that we provide a free “M” sticker to all of those with in-water vessels. This will give you access only to the Marina with designated parking at the Marina specifically for “M” sticker holders which will be especially helpful on weekends and holidays. An “M” sticker would not give you access to the Transfer Station or other Town Beaches and you would be required to purchase an “A” or all Beaches/Transfer Station sticker with fees of $10.00 for seniors and $20.00 for Fairfield residents.
At this same time, with the Commission’s approval, we will be discontinuing the free sticker for those who have boats/kayaks, etc. in the Jennings Boat Racks. They too will be required to purchase a sticker for access to the Beaches/Transfer Station, etc.
Other additions or changes to the current rules before the Commission are as follows and will be acted upon on Wednesday Oct. 15:
If you’re interested, please click on the links above that pertain to your particular use; in-water or boat racks to view those recommendations.
Again as a reminder, the Transfer Station Sticker is now required on a calendar year and will be needed January 1. These will go on sale Dec. 1, 2014. We are more than happy to facilitate this purchase over the phone with a credit card.at either the Parks Dept. 203-256-3010 or the Parks & Rec. Dept. 203-256-3191. Your sticker will be mailed on the next business day.
Have a safe winter and you’ll hear more from us throughout the next few months.
