There is no County recording in the State of Connecticut. All documents are recorded in the Clerk's office of the Town or City where the property is located. The Town of Fairfield only records documents for The Town of Fairfield. There is no recording of documents for Fairfield County.

The Town Clerk’s Office does not search land records for recording information. Land Record Indexes back to 1977 are available online. Otherwise, one must come to the Town Clerk’s Office to perform searches or hire a title searcher.

Fairfield’s Fraud Alert to notify property owners of new transactions regarding
their property. The Fairfield Town Clerk is providing a new free tool to help
property owners protect one of their most valuable assets.
With Fraud Alert you can sign up to receive alerts whenever
a document such as a mortgage is recorded under your name. Documents can be

Please remember that there may be other property owners in town that have the
same name.
