Veins and Legs

Celeste Richards – Center for Vein Restoration

Diabetes can cause swelling in the legs/veins due to insulin levels not working as they should, causing blood circulation to not work properly. With swelling comes the risk of clotting because the blood is no longer circulating correctly. This is a very serious issue and those who suffer with diabetes or hypertension are usually more at risk. Vascular Screening is one of the most effective ways to perform early diagnosis of vascular disease.

The Diabetes Support Group is held the second Tuesday of each month, September- June, from 1-2 PM at the Fairfield Senior Center, Room 14. Pre-registration is not required and the program is free. If the Fairfield Public Schools are closed or delayed due to bad weather, the Senior Center will be closed and programs will be cancelled. Please call    203-256-3150 for further information about this program, which is sponsored by the Town of Fairfield Health Department in collaboration with the Fairfield Senior Center.
