A survey to solicit public feedback on the Post Road/Kings Highway Circle will close as of Friday, January 17th. The survey, which is part of a broader initiative focused on enhancing safety for all users of the Post Road/Kings Highway Circle area, may be found here. The Town is working with the Regional Planning Agency, Metrocog, as well as planning consultant Fitzgerald & Halliday, Inc., on strategies to create a safer and more attractive pedestrian environment and to develop more robust infrastructure for bicycles, buses and other vehicles. The project will focus on an area of the Post Road between South Benson Road and Shoreham Terrace, which has been identified as a trouble spot in need of improvement, most recently by a CDOT-funded Roadway Safety Audit in 2016. An initial public workshop was held in October, and more workshops are expected to follow this spring. For presentation materials and more information about the project, including how to get more involved, visit the project website. The study, which is being funded through a $375,000 grant, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
