The following message was sent to Fairfield Public Schools' parents Tuesday, September 3rd:

Good afternoon

The Town of Fairfield has approved the use of the soccer field at Jennings Elementary and the baseball and soccer fields at Riverfield Elementary. We will follow the town’s lead in opening these locations for student use during recess starting tomorrow.

There remain areas at both schools were remediation will occur. Those areas are not on the fields that are now opened. The specific sites of concern will remain cordoned off and covered until remediation is completed.

The playscapes at Jennings and Riverfield remain closed until testing results are back. We expect those results, and the results of all playscape testing, in the week of September 9, 2019.

We hope to have additional test results on our fields by the end of this week and will keep you updated.

Students can begin to use the fields starting tomorrow, September 4, 2019.
