Fairfield's Flood & Erosion Control Board (FECB) will hold a series of Public Meetings during March to discuss the Fairfield Coastal Flood Mitigation Plan that was presented to the Board of Selectmen on January 8, 2015. A copy of the Plan can be found on the Board's website - www.fairfieldct.org/fecb - under Files and Documents. An archived video of the January 8th presentation to the Board of Selectmen can be found on FairTV's website (presentation is from 1 hour 14 minutes to 2 hours 27 minutes).
There will be three public meetings - March 3rd, 10th and 24th. All meetings will be held at Sherman School beginning at 7PM. Each meeting will cover the basics of how Fairfield floods and the overall plan. Each meeting will then focus on a different portion of the overall plan:
- March 3rd: segments 1 to 4 - Riverside Drive to Penfield Beach
- March 10th: segments 5 to 9 - Lalley Boulevard to the Waste Water Treatment Plant
- March 24th: segments 10 to 12 – Pine Creek Dike and marsh area
The intent of the meetings is to answer questions the public may have and, importantly, to solicit feedback, opinions and suggestions on how to make the plan better for our town.
