6/6/2018 - Town Unveils New Business Recruitment Website

As part of its on-going efforts to attract new business investment, the Town of Fairfield has launched, a new mobile-responsive website for businesses interested in learning more about what Fairfield has to offer.

Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau stated, "A diverse business portfolio is essential to Fairfield's continued economic well-being. While we are extremely fortunate to have a strong and vibrant business base, our goal is to attract more business investment and to grow the grand list. We invite outside business leaders to discover for themselves what our Fairfield business community already knows—that Fairfield’s strength is its people and this coupled with our two outstanding universities, superb quality of life and location make Fairfield a sound choice for business.”

Fairfield Economic Development Commission Chairman Kevin Lesko, a Fairfield business owner himself, commented, “Developing a new, externally focused website to serve as a marketing and business recruitment tool has been a top priority of the Commission and was identified as a key action step in our recently completed Economic Development Plan. Additionally, this new website is a terrific complement to our work with our ‘Fairfield County 5’ partners to attract new businesses to Fairfield County.”

This new initiative has been in the works for several months, according to Mark Barnhart, Fairfield's Director of Community and Economic Development with input from the Economic Development Commission, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and local business leaders. “Research shows that websites are a very important marketing tool for business recruitment, particularly in the early stages of a search process.” Barnhart stated. He continued, “We intend to follow the website launch with a marketing campaign targeted at companies that are actively seeking or exploring options, particularly small to medium sized companies that we think might be a good fit for Fairfield.”

The website features key statistics about Fairfield and video testimonials from several business leaders discussing the quality and depth of the talent pool, relationships to local universities and what it means to live and to operate a business in Fairfield. First Selectman Tetreau observed "Sacred Heart and Fairfield Universities as well as our business community are important partners in this initiative and essential to our long term success. In addition to both universities, we would like to thank Cindi Bigelow, David Ives and Lynn Souza for their time, invaluable input and participation in the video interviews,’ he stated.

The Town selected a Fairfield-based marketing firm, Designsite, to develop the new website. Mr. Barnhart commented, “Michael DeMartin and his team did an outstanding job and were extremely responsive to our needs. I also wish to thank Joe and Caroline Vella at Vella Interactive for their videography and copywriting expertise. Finally, I would like to recognize Fairfield resident and retired business executive, Don Irion, for his wise counsel and able assistance in seeing this project through to completion.”

Designsite is an award-winning, full service digital agency, based in Fairfield CT. For more information on their services, visit their website at or contact Michael DeMartin.
