The Town of Fairfield’s Office of Community & Economic Development is delighted to announce the opening of Saltwater, a new mommy & me specialty boutique located at 45 Unquowa Road in Fairfield. Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau joined Fairfield Chamber Of Commerce President Beverly Balaz and Saltwater co-owners Sarah McBrair and Jessica Sokol at a ribbon cutting ceremony this past Saturday to help celebrate the store’s official grand opening.

Saltwater ( offers a well-curated collection of mom and child apparel, accessories, jewelry, home decor, and gift ideas with a focus on independent and inspiring brands that are both classic and contemporary. In addition to its unique product offerings, Saltwater provides specialty services including monogramming, print framing, gift wrapping and delivery to local customers, and soon to come--birthday parties!

Saltwater is owned by two Fairfield moms and entrepreneurs, Jessica Sokol and Sarah McBrair, both of whom possess a wealth of experience in the creative and retail industries. Jess has a master’s degree in art business from Sotheby’s and has worked for the Smithsonian, Sotheby’s, Farrow & Ball, as well as in the interior design, bridal and event industries. Sarah is the head designer of jewelry brand, Love of Pretty.

The store has been open for about two months and is already drawing rave reviews. “The reception to date has been awesome. We are overjoyed by the warm welcome and response from the community thus far,” stated Jess Sokol.
