Skate Park Rules and Regulations
• Skateboarding and Scootering are "High Risk Activities". Wear safety equipment, including helmets, arm and knee pads, wrist guards and appropriate clothing and shoes at all times. Know your ability and ride accordingly. Use of this park may expose you to serious injury.
• The Skate Park is a non-supervised facility designed for skateboarding (34" maximum length only) and scootering (non-motorized) only. All other users are prohibited.
• Be courteous to others using the park. Riders under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult. Spectators are not allowed inside the fenced area and should watch from the perimeter only.
• Riders are not allowed to bring in any unauthorized pieces of equipment, including but not limited to, ramps, handrails, or any other structures that could be used to perform stunts. Skateboards and scooters must be in good repair. Modifications to the riding surface are prohibited.
• Inspect the surfaces before you ride them. Remove all trash, debris, and objects that may prevent a smooth safe ride. Report any damage to the Parks and Recreation Department at 203-256-3191.
• No riding when wet, raining, snowing, inclement weather or during the skate park maintenance periods.
• Graffiti, tagging, destroying or defacing public property is strictly prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted.
• Profanity, reckless behavior, fighting, and/or loud music are prohibited.
• Food, beverage and gum consumption is prohibited within the fenced area.
• Smoking, illegal drug use, consumption of alcoholic beverages and/or use of glass containers is prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted.
• No competitive or demonstration events or amplified music are allowed without written approval from the Director of Parks and Recreation.
• Failure to adhere to any of these rules or regulations may result in loss of facility privileges, including being rejected and/or banned from the park and/or closure. Report any violations to the Parks and Recreation Department at 203-256-3191.
Ride At Your Own Risk
Skating and scootering are inherently dangerous sports, especially for inexperience riders. The dangers or riding include, but are not limited to, injury and/or death arising from any causes, collision with other riders and/or your failure to ride and/or behave in a safe and reasonable manner. Utilizing this facility constitutes your acceptance of all risks and your assumption of personal responsibility for any and all injuries to you and others arising from the use of this facility. If you are unwilling or unable to safely use this facility, any/or assume the risks to yourself and others, including those under your supervision, do not use this facility. The Town of Fairfield does not assume responsibility for any injuries incurred in the use of this facility or the actions or others.
AGE WARNING : The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under 10 not use skateboards or scooters without close adult supervision and that children younger than 5 not use them at all.
