Jennings Beach Skate Park

Athletic fields will be open with the following restrictions:

  • No organized athletics/sports allowed.
  • No groups larger than 5 will be allowed.
  • When a six-foot distance is unavoidable, face coverings are required to be worn.
  • Playgrounds will remain CLOSED.

The Jennings Beach Skate Park was designed by "Breaking Ground" and opened for use in November of 2009. Since then, it has become one of the premier skate parks in the State. Located at 880 South Benson Road between Jennings Beach and the South Benson Marina, it is open under staff supervision only. The skate park is  supervised daily to ensure that the Rules & Regulations are obeyed by all users. Failure to obey will result in removal of violators.

There is no fee to use the Skate Park but a beach sticker is required from Memorial Day Saturday to Labor Day in order to park in the Jennings Beach lot.


Skate Park Hours

The Skate Park is Closed from November 26 - March 31.
Skate Park will open based on staff availability:

Monday - Friday during school year 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Saturday - Sunday during school year 10:00am - 6:00pm
Summer Hours and Holiday Hours 10:00am - 7:00pm


Skate Park Rules and Regulations

•Park open under staff supervision only 
•Skating not permitted when surface is wet and or frozen 
•Only skateboarders and in-line skaters permitted inside park (No Bicycles or Scooters, etc) 
•No motorized apparatus may be used in the facility 
•Skaters must wear a helmet
•Elbow pads and knee-pads are recommended 
•Shirts are required at all times 
•No pets allowed in skate park area 
•Spectators are not allowed in the skate area 
  Do not proceed down a ramp until clear of other skaters

•No destroying or defacing public property 
•No glass bottles permitted inside the skate area 
•Trash should be placed in appropriate trash containers 
•No alcohol, smoking, tobacco products, drugs, weapons, foul language, inappropriate or disorderly behavior or loitering allowed in the park 
•No unauthorized pieces of equipment obstacles or apparatus may be brought into the skate area 
•Skating is a hazardous activity. Skate at your own risk. When you enter this facility you assume all risks and responsibilities that are inherent to extreme sports activities which could result in serious physical injury or death to yourself, others, and /or property.  The facility is used by experienced and inexperienced skateboarders & in-line skaters.  Serious injury may result from falling, being hit by skateboards, or colliding.  The Town of Fairfield and its agents are not responsible for any injuries.
•Violations may result in loss of skate privileges 
AGE WARNING : The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under 10 not use skateboards without close adult supervision and that children younger than 5 not use them at all.
