About the Cable Advisory Council Area Two (CAC2)
The Cable Advisory Council is a state-mandated organization of representatives appointed by the chief elected official (in Fairfield, the First Selectman) in each of the six municipalities served. Members serve as advisors to Cablevision, provider of the commercial network channels, and to the licensed provider of the three community access channels, Sound View Community Media, Inc. Municipalities served include Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, Orange, and Woodbridge.
- Convey to the provider’s subscribers community interests and concerns on content and state or federal cable policies and regulations
- ATCC has a critical role in the development and use of the public, education, and government access channels (P-E-G) and the Cablevision owned institutional network (I-Net).
- The Cable Advisory Council, at will, has also been an intervener of complainant to the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) in matters that affect cable subscribers, community access of I-Net programming.
