10/11/2022 - 235 Pine Creek Ave Improvements

The Conservation Department remains committed to improving the ecological functionality of the wetlands located at the intersection of Pine Creek Avenue and French Street.  This project began with excluding vehicle parking over this past summer and removal of seven large invasive Ailanthus trees.  Currently, the parcel is undergoing additional invasive species removal which include porcelain berry, multi-flora rose and japanese knotweed.  The area will be replanted with native wetland plants such as serviceberry, hawthorne and switch grasses to provide wildlife-friendly habitat, food for birds and an improved view scape.
