Now that the weather has improved, the Department is continuing to address the wetlands parcel owned by the Town at the intersection of Pine Creek Avenue and French Street.

The improvements over the summer began with excluding vehicle parking and removal of seven large invasive Ailanthus trees.  The parcel is currently undergoing removal of additional invasive species such as Japanese knotweed, porcelain berry and multi-flora rose.  The area will be planted with native wetland plants such as serviceberry, hawthorne and switch grasses that will provide a more ecologically friendly environment.
