UPDATE:

As of September 8th, the contractor has been making steady progress on the construction of the bird observation blind in the Oldfield Road North open space.  The blind will be a key recreational piece in the area for observing wildlife in the 35-acre+ tidal marsh, including waterfowl, deer and the recently installed osprey nesting platform.  The location at 760 Oldfield Road is the terminus of the trail system beginning at Old Dam Road, along the Rice Trail behind the Senior Center and across Oldfield Road.  Additional native plantings and signage are scheduled and the Department is proud to have partnered with The Tucker Fund on this project and the CTDEEP's OSWLA Grant Program (for a portion of this parcel).
