On June 18th, the Conservation Department assisted Eagle Scout candidate Mark Casa to construct and install an osprey nesting platform on Town open space.  The Oldfield Road North tidal marsh was one of the few tidal marshes that did not have a nesting platform, until now.  A big thank you to the Department staff, Mark and father Rich Casa, Terry Shaw (Menunkatuck Audubon), Brian Hess (CTDEEP) and the volunteers of BSA Troop 199 who helped make this happen on Saturday.  We look forward to watching a nesting pair of ospreys call it home next spring!
