Primary-ElectionsNOTE:  The 2024 State Primaries will be held on Tuesday, August 13th. Primaries are for registered Democrats and registered Republicans only.

Events and Deadlines

Polls will be open from 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM at regular polling places.

The Primaries are only for voters registered with either the Democratic or Republican parties.

Not sure what party, if any, you are registered with?  Click here to access the Secretary of State's Voter Registration Lookup. Unaffiliated voters may change their party affiliation in person up until noon the day before the primary.  Please note deadlines below for those wishing to change parties.

Monday, May 13th is the last day to change party affiliation for any voter currently enrolled in a party (i.e. Democrats wishing to become Republicans, Republicans wishing to become Democrats, etc.).  Unaffiliated voters (i.e. those not enrolled in any party) may register in person for a party up until 12:00 pm on Monday, August 12th - see information below.

The last day to register to vote and/or enroll in a party by mail or online before the primary day is Friday, July 26th. Mailed applications must be postmarked on or before this date. Online voter registration must be submitted by midnight. 

Early Voting Monday, August 5th to Sunday, August 11th 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on August 6th and August 8th)

Voters may cast ballots at the early voting location(s) during these dates. Unaffiliated voters must change parties prior to this date to vote early, and new voters must register by noon prior to the day they wish to vote early. Those registering to vote in per

The last day to register to vote and/or enroll in a party in person before the primary is Monday, August 12th, by 12 PM at the Registrar of Voters Office in Old Town Hall. Voters must appear in person. No drop offs will be allowed.

Absentee Voting Deadline Monday,

 By 4:30 PM

Absentee Ballot Applications and Ballots are available in the Town Clerk's office until 4:30 PM on Monday, August 12th.  Absentee Ballot Applications are also available online from the Secretary of State's website.

Polls are open from 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM.  Voting takes place at regular polling locations.
