Why Fairfield?

There are many reasons to launch, relocate, or expand your business in Fairfield.

Fairfield is home to Fortune 500 companies General Electric and Bigelow Tea.  It is a town of 59,000-plus residents with a well educated, high-income demographic.  Fairfield is also home to Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University providing a wide variety of educational and cultural opportunities.

Fairfield is easily accessible for commuters.  Fairfield offers multiple access points to Interstate Highway I-95 and access to the historic Merritt Parkway. Fairfield has three train stations on the Metro North New Haven to Grand Central Terminal line. The Fairfield Train Station is in the center of downtown and the Southport Train Station serves Southport.  The newly-opened Fairfield Metro Train Station has sparked new business opportunities with new existing and planned office space, a luxury condo complex, and the opening of a new shopping center anchored by Whole Foods. Greater Bridgeport Transit offers bus service for employees traveling from neighboring towns.

Fairfield has many other valuable assets that make it an ideal location for businesses and their employees and families.  Fairfield has a thriving, pedestrian-friendly downtown that features fine restaurants, retail stores, live theater, and an outdoor summer concert series. Fairfield has two well-appropriated public libraries and a privately-run library that is open to the public.  Fairfield has a top-notch, award-winning public school system with private and parochial school options.

Fairfield has five miles of shoreline on the Long Island Sound, five popular town beaches, two marinas for town residents and a newly renovated beach pavilion. For those who prefer freshwater, Fairfield features a town lake with a beach, lifeguards, swim instruction, and a kiddie water park.  With two public golf courses (an 18-hole course and a par-three course) as well as three private clubs (The Patterson Club, Brooklawn Country Club, and the Country Club of Fairfield), there are many opportunities for golf, tennis, swimming and other activities.  In addition the private Fairfield Beach Club features a private beachfront and waterfront paddle and tennis courts.
